After reading a bit more about Del.icio.us, I can see how useful it is for sharing websites and tagging them.
I first read about Library Thing in the Good Reading magazine, where it was suggested for cataloguing private book collections. I checked it out, but wasn't really interested in sharing my opinions of books.
I had a look at the Sutherland Shire Libraries use of Del.icio.us and can see how conveniently Reference librarians could share and update their lists of current favourite websites. The tags are handy for giving an (extremely) brief overview so you can quickly see if you want to read the website.
I'll explore more and then blog more on this topic.
